Salvation by Avery Brewing is a very good Belgian style golden ale.

Salvation is part of Avery’s “Holy Trinity of Ales”. I have tried The Reverend before and loved it, I have yet to try “Hog heaven”.

Salvation has a fruity taste but is light and smooth and very drinkable. Overall I have liked most of what I have tried from Avery, so it was not a surprise that I liked this beer as well.

At 9% ABV it is a pretty strong beer but it is deceptively sweet, smooth and fruity for such a high ABV.

From what I can gather from the internet, this beer is supposed to have an inch or so of head. I did not get any head when I poured this beer, but that did not deter me from enjoying it. I have kept this beer in the fridge for several weeks … so maybe it lost some fizz.

Either way it still tasted great and went down smooth so I will try this golden Belgian ale again for sure.

Well I am snowed in here in Texas today and that is a good excuse to try out a new beer. Today I chose wisely.

The Reverend, by Avery Brewing company in Boulder Colorado, is a Belgian style Quadrupel Ale. Avery Brewing specializes in craft beers that are strong.

The Reverend is much more amber than my Blackberry camera was able to capture, it is much more light clear light reddish. It is super smooth and is slightly sweet with hints of cherry and caramel. It packs some punch with 10% ABV.

I picked this one up at World Market and highly recommend it!
