Electric Monkeys Digital Print Gallery

The Electric Monkeys series was created in a customized version of my space filling curve abstract art generator. It employs both fractal and generative processes in the creation of the images. This series marks a change in direction from complexity towards simplicity. Previous output was heading towards greater resolution and extreme complexity, so much so that output began to look like non repeating wallpaper.

After spending some time collaborating with Chris Ashley on the reductionizer, I realized I was totally overlooking the really nice things happening in these generative works at a smaller scale. So I decided to render out some very small space filling curve images with a greatly reduced subset of points. I am very happy with this new direction and plan to pursue it much further.

The Electric Monkeys series of museum quality digital prints on paper will be available this November (2006). Each edition is limited to 10 prints, when an edition is sold out there will be no more of that edition printed ever. All prints are printed on heavy weight museum quality archival paper with museum quality archival ink. Each print is hand signed and editioned by Don Relyea in pencil and comes with a certificate of authenticity also hand signed by the artist. All prints are on 13" x 19" archival paper and suitable for framing. Prices are available upon request please email me. I am accepting pre-orders now.

Please allow 2 weeks for printing and shipping. If you need a rush order for a gift please email me and we can make arrangements. Colors on the actual print may differ very slightly from the thumbnails below based on differences in color calibration from computer monitor to monitor.
