Varnishing new print works in garage

1stlayervarnishdrying

I'm hanging out in the garage listening to dub step and adding the first layer of varnish to the new works going to to my birthday show at Good Friend Beer Garden.

This show is comprised of prints themed from my video art piece "Bombshell" which was inspired by Ed Paschke and bombshells from the 40s through the 80s. Since that video I have also been inspired by marbleized paper as well and have added some algorithms to my work that generates marbleized paper looking patterns in my work.

These works are generated by finger painting on tablets or using the mouse to paint depending on where I am. I created the software that generated these images in openframeworks.

If i said I was not influenced by a lot of the graffiti, stencil work and otherwise I have been seeing lately, I would be lying. I have been trying to work the hand of the artist back in to my generative works. There are a lot of similarities between spray paint and particle effects as a medium for creating art.
