500x open show
The 25th Annual 500x Open Show is going on May 6-27th 2006.

Opening Reception: Saturday, May 6
6-9pm
500X Gallery
500 Exposition Ave
Dallas TX

If you already know about this show then you probably already plan to be there, if not you should check it out. It is usually a mish mash of newcomers and some of the best new players in the local art community as well as clever entries from some of Dallas' more seasoned regulars. It's always an entertaining event.

I have a nice large (46x35) piece of work I am planning to enter in this show (provided it gets back from the framer in time). Hopefully I do not get stuck in the back hall like I did when I was in High School and entered the open show back in 1987.

Generative Exploration of Related Points Along a Space Filling Curve #1 46x35 Iris print

Since I am testing the waters with this new generative work I have chosen to do a small edition of 30. This new work, the first of a series, will be for sale at the show, unframed prints will be available at a discount. So go to the party, have fun and check out some cool art of all kinds.

New 6168.ORG dynamic generative video by Peter Horvath
Triptych: Motion Stillness Resistance
6168.ORG announces the launch of a new net-based video work "Triptych: Motion Stillness Resistance" by Peter Horvath.

You will need broadband DSL/Cable and the Flash plugin.

"Triptych: Motion Stillness Resistance is a generative, video-based triptych that explores three dynamics: motion, stillness and resistance. Each panel of Triptych focuses on one dynamic and uses these as visual metaphors for universal emotive and cognitive states taken from and reflecting my personal experiences. In Triptych three separate video streams run simultaneously in three panels. These videos are randomly chosen from a central database of stored footage associated with each individual panel. Self-structuring and generative, each time Triptych is viewed the outcome is unique. There is no audio component to this work."

Huh?
Huh?
This e-business marketing agency knows how to market itself. Explaining the importance of an expensive table and knowing when to roll up your shirt sleeves.

Huh? is excellent web parody of a consulting site. The whole site is a good laugh, you should check it out, but here is a segment from the strategies page.

"Our main consulting strategy is to convince clients that we do stuff they can't do themselves, and that we deserve lots of money for it. The best way to do this is to always look good, and always sound like we know something you don't. Because we do."

More new art generator output
New generator output, I'm still fine tuning the algorithm and making more parameters accessible. However, I think it is coming along very nicely and will warrant a print show when it is complete. Click on the thumbnails to enlarge.
