Work progressing on the Reductionizer v005
I am making some good progress on v005 of The Reductionizer. I have gutted the core of the program and moved all of the interface elements into tool windows. The modifications will allow greater flexibility adding features as we move forward. Patrick Lichty writes in Rhizome Raw referring to one of his recent works Tabula Visum: Tabular Vision & HTML Cinema (created in part using the Reductionizer)..."The thing is that it doesn't give you centering, background color, and the files are too large to deal with any WYSIWYG editor, so I have to reformat them in Notepad." So I am now working on adding property windows to set a wide variety of table and document level attributes. The idea is eliminate the need to go into dreamweaver to edit the big html table files. Part of what Patrick is doing in Tabula Visum: Tabular Vision & HTML Cinema (check it out if you have not) is making wrist cam movies and 8 bit animations into html table animations. Tabula Visum has given me the idea of incorporationg some sort of batch processing capability into the program. So I am thinking about how to implement that as well. I was originally planning on adding a full blown layer management system in v005 but I may hold off on layers until v006. The Reductionizer v005 should be available for download some time in mid to late December. Sun, 19 Nov 2006
Exploration in warm and cool colors 68_69 series of prints
Below are some photos of the actual prints on heavy weight water color paper.
The page with all 9 available prints is here. They are printed on 13x19 heavy weight water color paper using my new Epson R2400 printer(my wife got me an early xmas present) which prints on archival papers using pigment inks. I am working on a review of this printer, briefly though, the print quality is better than anything I have ever seen from any inkjet prints including iris prints. Exploration in Warm and Cool Colors WC68-69 series was created in a customized version of my space filling curve abstract art generator. It is worthwhile to note that the overal designs and color themes of this series were generated by a computer program coded by the artist. The program employs both fractal and generative processes in the creation of the images. In the past, I have not manipulated the images by hand at all except to fix an occasional bad pixel created by minor program glitches. In this series I have manually manipulated the output adding lines and toggling colors as I see fit. This is part of my iterative process. I will go back into the program and try to figure out how to make the program create the same type of lines and color combos during the execution. There are nine total images in this series. However, the numbers do not go from 1 to 9. There were 14 total images generated only 9 made the final cut. Sat, 18 Nov 2006![]() So I was watching all 3 kids today and went downstairs to feed the infant. I heard what sounded like construction upstairs, so I yelled upstairs to find out what my daughter was up to... She replied, Daddy I am redecorating! Sat, 11 Nov 2006

![]() Exploration in warm and cool colors 10_8 #01 I have been busy with several new series of works using my color theory module and my space filling curve program. I am continuing in the direction of the Electric Monkeys. I have have about 50 new works in process. I think they may trickle on to my site via my blog while I set up gallery pages for each series and start printing some editions. I still need to figure out how I plan to organize all of this new work on my site. |
