Work progressing on the Reductionizer v005
I am making some good progress on v005 of The Reductionizer. I have gutted the core of the program and moved all of the interface elements into tool windows. The modifications will allow greater flexibility adding features as we move forward. Patrick Lichty writes in Rhizome Raw referring to one of his recent works Tabula Visum: Tabular Vision & HTML Cinema (created in part using the Reductionizer)..."The thing is that it doesn't give you centering, background color, and the files are too large to deal with any WYSIWYG editor, so I have to reformat them in Notepad." So I am now working on adding property windows to set a wide variety of table and document level attributes. The idea is eliminate the need to go into dreamweaver to edit the big html table files. Part of what Patrick is doing in Tabula Visum: Tabular Vision & HTML Cinema (check it out if you have not) is making wrist cam movies and 8 bit animations into html table animations. Tabula Visum has given me the idea of incorporationg some sort of batch processing capability into the program. So I am thinking about how to implement that as well. I was originally planning on adding a full blown layer management system in v005 but I may hold off on layers until v006. The Reductionizer v005 should be available for download some time in mid to late December. |
